NZEB (Nearly/Net Zero Energy/Emission Buildings) are structures with extremely high energy performance, requiring very little energy, which is covered to a significant extent by renewable sources produced on-site or nearby. Mandatory for new builds in the EU since 2020, NZEB optimizes insulation, airtightness, and renewable systems (solar/heat pumps) to achieve near-zero consumption.
